Although you can define it many ways, we view knowledge management (KM) as the process of transforming information and intellectual assets into enduring organizational value. Why is KM important for philanthropy? As our society rapidly evolves into an “instant information age,” grantmakers must process large quantities of information and generate new knowledge to accomplish their missions.
Regional associations increasingly pursue collaborative public policy work with their members and with each other. There exists a wide range of practice in terms of taking a position on an issue and speaking with one voice on behalf of members.
The Knowledgebase is a shared resource archive for grantmakers provided by regional associations. Resources provided include documents, links, reports, sample materials, job postings and more that are fully indexed and easily searchable. All regionals have access to the Knowledgebase and can make it available to their members through their websites.
