In our commitment to keeping PSOs and their members updated and engaged on issues impacting the sector and the communities we work with and in, United Philanthropy Forum is hosting a State Legislative Huddle Special Edition focusing on “donor intent” legislation at the state level.
This informal discussion will provide insights into the push for so-called “donor intent” policies and an open dialogue about coordinating advocacy strategies among Forum member-PSOs to educate their foundation members and state lawmakers about the potential impacts of these laws.
A coordinated national campaign has led to a “donor intent” law being enacted in Kansas earlier this year and others being proposed in Mississippi, Ohio, and elsewhere. This State Legislative Huddle Special Edition will provide Forum members with key background information, shared language for discussing these policies, and a conversation about how best to respond to these coordinated efforts, as needed.
This will be an off-the-record conversation available for only Forum members.
