Washington Grantmakers Response to Economic Downturn

In September, 2008, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were placed in federal conservatorship, jeopardizing $47 M of charitable giving in our region. Recognizing the dire consequences that this situation and the broader economic downturn would have on the social profits serving our community, the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers acted.
