To help PSOs overcome financial barriers to engaging in racial equity work, the Forum is offering mini-grant opportunities for our members, thanks to support from Borealis Philanthropy’s Racial Equity in Philanthropy Fund. This mini-grant program will provide Forum members with small grants, up to $5,500, to cover all or part of the costs of a trainer, facilitator, or speaker (or related program expenses) to engage with staff, board, and/or members on an aspect of advancing racial equity.
The national Democracy Funders Collaborative Census Subgroup shared the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Census Equity Fund. The Fund supports census preparation and outreach in regions with high proportions of historically undercounted populations and fewer philanthropic resources.
The Forum is offering mini-grants for our regional and national PSO members to engage their foundation members around education and investment in fair representation and redistricting efforts. This will include providing $2,500-$5,000 grants from a pool of $50,000 that will enable Forum members to educate funders and encourage their engagement in efforts related to fair representation and redistricting efforts.
