The Disability Carceral State institute will examine the ways in which Disability Justice can and should inform movements to end criminalization through a top-level overview of how Ableism operates as a hub of multiple supremacy systems, examining the core elements that make up the "Disability Carceral State", and sharing how philanthropy can resource strategic opportunities in support of DJ-informed abolition work

Join us for an introductory-to-intermediate level disability justice training curated by staff of the Disability Project at Transgender Law Center.
The content of this four-part training will focus on understanding the history and present-moment impact of the Medical Industrial Complex (MIC) within the context of a healing justice framework, the context and conditions within philanthropy as relates to the MIC, and time to envision or deepen philanthropic strategies focused on transforming care to center dignity, respect and agency for all who are vulnerable and in crisis.
