Tuesday, July 8, 2014
The McGregor Fund has announced the passing its President, CEO, and Trustee, former Forum Board Member David Campbell on July 7th of pancreatic cancer. Campbell served on the Forum's Board from 2010-2012, lending his thoughtful, deliberate voice to charting our expanding network and building new relationships in the philanthropic sector. He similarly served on the Council of Michigan Foundations Board of Trustees from 1995-2004, including serving as Chairman during 2001-2003.

The McGregor Fund is a private foundation established in 1925 by gifts from Katherine and Tracy McGregor “to relieve the misfortunes and promote the well-being of mankind.” Campbell joined the Fund in 1995 as Executive Director, and became President in 1999 and Chief Executive Officer in 2014.  He was also elected to the McGregor Fund Board of Trustees in 2003.  During his over 19 years leading the Fund, nearly $150 million was granted to Detroit area non-profits.  Prior to joining the Fund, Dave served as Vice President, Program at the Community Foundation for Southeastern Michigan from 1986-1994, and as Dean of Students at the College for Creative Studies from 1980-1986.

He will be missed by his family, the Forum, and the philanthropic field. For more information about Dave's life and work, please visit www.mcgregorfund.org
