Puerto Rico Earthquakes: How to Respond

Puerto Rico has declared a state of emergency after a series of earthquakes have impacted the island. Hispanics in Philanthropy has created a resource page to provide support. HIP is collaborating with partners and organizations on the ground including Philanthropy Puerto Rico, Fundacion Oye Aguadilla, Banco Popular Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of PR, Para la Naturaleza, Centro Sol Isolina Ferré, Utopia Ponce, Amerihealth Caritas, Colibri Foundation, and World Central Kitchen to help those most in need. Hispanics in Philanthropy will be updating the page with resources and information as it comes in.

In related news, Forum member Environmental Grantamkers Association is holding its 2020 Winter Briefing on February 24-25 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Presented in partnership with Forum members Philanthropy Puerto Rico, Neighborhood Funders Group and Hispanics in Philanthropy, the briefing will lift up lessons learned from frontline communities impacted by extreme weather and climate change in and beyond Puerto Rico, including highlighting collaboration and innovative grantmaking strategies in California, Louisiana, Florida, Houston and more.
