Learning to Ride the Wave: Adaptive Business Modeling for Philanthropy-Serving OrganizationsA new DIY guide seeks to help philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs) effectively manage the “business side” of their organizations. Developed by The Giving Practice (TGP) at Philanthropy Northwest, in partnership with United Philanthropy Forum and Northern California Grantmakers, Learning to Ride the Wave: Adaptive Business Modeling for Philanthropy-Serving Organizations offers practical tips, tools and practices to help ensure that PSOs are mobilizing resources as effectively as possible to advance their missions. The guide features perspectives from dozens of leaders of national and regional PSOs and examples from TGP’s work with these organizations.

“The work of PSOs is incredibly vital to the success of the philanthropy field, so I’m always glad to see PSOs doing all that they can to ensure that they’re not only meeting their missions but doing so in ways that ensure they’re financially strong and sustainable as they adapt to changing times,” writes Forum President & CEO David Biemesderfer in the guide’s introduction.
