The Forum's Director of Programs, Mary O’Neill, recently served on a panel presentation at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Board on Children, Youth and Families’ (BCYF) annual meeting.
The panel explored the kinds of children, youth and family issues funders are concerned with; discussed how race, inequality and poverty are factoring in grantmaking; and explored how BCYF might be able to assist the grantmaking community with research efforts.
Mary presented alongside Cema Siegel of Grantmakers Income Security Taskforce and Stephanie McGencey of the Council on Foundations. Upon learning about the roles that regional associations play in supporting effective grantmaking in local communities, several BCYF board members expressed interest in connecting with their local RAs.
