Forum Offers Racial Equity Learning Exchange Pilot Opportunity

Wednesday, August 11, 2021

United Philanthropy Forum is pleased to be partnering with Marga Inc. to offer four Forum members an opportunity to engage some of their foundation members in a pilot Racial Equity Learning Exchange Series. The series will consist of three facilitated peer discussions to help groups of foundation representatives share policies, practices, lessons, and ideas on racial equity and inclusion with each other. These four pilots will be offered free of charge, with Marga providing all the management and facilitation of the discussions. Two pilots will start in the first quarter of 2022 and the second two pilots will start in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Intended to help participants develop or refine policies, systems and operations regarding racial equity and inclusion, hosting PSOs need to have already engaged in foundational work on racial equity and be able to demonstrate their capacity for advancing racial equity among their membership. They also need to demonstrate their ability to bring together a group of member foundations that are fully able to discuss how they are implementing a commitment to racial equity internally and externally, even if at an early stage. Upon completion of the series, participants will be able to identify practical ways to revise priorities, systems, and operations as it aligns with a commitment to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion, among other conceptual practices.

To apply for your PSO to host a pilot Racial Equity Learning Exchange Series, complete the pilot application by September 30. The Forum will hold an informational webinar about the Exchange on September 21 at 2 p.m (ET), where you can learn more about this opportunity. Decisions will be made by October 29. If you have questions, please contact Traci Slater-Rigaud, Director of Member Engagement & Partnerships, at traci@unitedphilforum.org or (202) 457-8784.
