As people around the world continue to respond to the growing humanitarian crisis resulting from the war in Ukraine, we are reminded of the important role that U.S. philanthropy plays in aiding humanitarian and economic crises around the world. We are fortunate to have a number of Forum members and colleagues who are helping our sector to effectively respond to the crisis in Ukraine, and we wanted to lift them up to make sure that everyone is aware of their resources and programming:
Candid has created a page to provide funding data and other resources on the philanthropic response to the war in Ukraine.
Center for Disaster Philanthropy
CDP offers a comprehensive summary on the current situation in Ukraine, critical and ongoing needs, and how to help.
Council on Foundations
COF offers an excellent summary of resources and response funds.
You can also watch a recording of a March 3 Council on Foundations webinar on Philanthropy’s Response to the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis.
Philea (Philanthropy Europe Association)
Resources from our colleague organization in Europe.
Peace and Security Funders Group
Click the link above to read a Chronicle of Philanthropy op-ed by Alex Toma, Executive Director of Peace and Security Funders Group, explaining how the war in Ukraine requires a major philanthropic response and overall increase in peace and security funding.
Women's Funding Network
WFN has issued a statement of solidarity and Condemnation of Violence for which they encourage people to sign-on to.
