Forum Board Welcomes New Officers, Director

Friday, April 9, 2021

In January, United Philanthropy Forum’s board of directors welcomed a new slate of officers to help guide the organization over the next 18 months:

  • Chair: Amanda Misiko Andere, CEO, Funders Together to End Homelessness
  • Vice Chair: Ret Boney, Executive Director, North Carolina Network of Grantmakers
  • Treasurer: Andreason Brown, Chief Financial Officer, Spencer Foundation
  • Secretary: Kristen Cambell, Executive Director, Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE)

The new board officers’ terms will run through July 2022, and they will comprise the board’s executive committee. “I’m honored to be leading the Forum’s board of directors at a time when the organization’s vital leadership role for the sector and focus on racial equity is needed more than ever,” said Andere.

In addition, on March 31 the Forum’s board elected Deborah Aubert Thomas, CEO of Philanthropy Ohio, to immediately fill a director vacancy on the board. Among her many involvements with the Forum, Thomas currently serves on the Forum’s Racial Equity Committee and was a member of the Forum’s 2019 Annual Conference Planning Committee. In addition, she currently serves on the board of directors of Forum member Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO).
