The D5 Coalition is as a five-year effort to help advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the field of philanthropy. The Forum and many regional associations are members of the Coalition. This year marks a critical juncture as we move from curating the tools, resources, and infrastructure in support of a philanthropic commitment to DEI, to extending the network of philanthropic leaders acting in support of a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive field. The 2014 report highlights new tools and resources, recently completed research, and new organizational approaches that are putting us in a better position than ever to take action in support of advancing DEI. Also included is perspectives from three industry thought leaders and analysis on the complex and challenging issues we, as a philanthropic community, face—and to present a charge to each of us to go deeper, to engage in dialogue and debate, and to keep at it.
