Giving in Florida 2015: Florida Foundation Giving Reaches Record High
Giving by Florida’s foundations reached a record-high $1.5 billion in 2013, increasing 15 percent from the previous year and 50 percent over a 10-year period, according to a new report by Florida Philanthropic Network, Florida’s statewide association of grantmakers. When adding in giving by individual Floridians, charitable giving in Florida totaled $16.3 billion.
Unemployment of Floridians with Disabilities Report
The report shows an employment rate of only 30% for people with disabilities (PWD), ages 16 – 65. Importantly, the research revealed a wide variation of the employment rate from county to county for people with disabilities. This was not true for workers without disabilities. The research was funded by a grant from The Able Trust, to obtain a benchmark employment rate for those they serve, as a primary gauge of the success of programs that The Able Trust funds, and as a measure of the outcomes of the combination of services offered through private and public organizations in the state to increase employment opportunities and actual employment for Floridians with disabilities.

This report is released in tandem with “The Status of Women in Florida by County: Population & Diversity,” which analyzes the demographics of women and men in the state.
Status of Florida Girls
This collection of research studies commissioned by the Florida Women's Funding Alliance, an Affinity Group of FPN, and conducted by the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center have uncovered significant rates of violence and victimization among certain segments of girls in their communities, particularly girls of color and those identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual or unsure.
