Foundations on the Hill 2020
March 9-11, 2020
JW Marriott Washington DC
Join us at Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) along with more than 300 philanthropy representatives from around the country as we head to Washington, DC to speak with our elected officials about the policies that matter most to philanthropy.
Presented by United Philanthropy Forum, Foundations on the Hill:
- Informs and educates Congress about philanthropy;
- Creates visibility for foundations and philanthropy on Capitol Hill;
- Advocates on issues important to foundations;
- Encourages Congress to view foundations as resources on key public policy issues; and
- Builds your organization’s relationship with lawmakers and their staffs.
While the philanthropic sector builds relationships with Congress year-round, FOTH is the one time a year when philanthropy comes together to speak with one voice to our elected leaders about the unique and vital role that charitable giving plays in America.
How it Works
Prior to FOTH, your delegation captain will schedule meetings on Capitol Hill with members of Congress. Your delegation captain will be in charge of setting up the meetings, sharing policy priorities and topics of interest to discuss, communicating with you about scheduling updates, and coordinating a pre-FOTH call for all delegation members where you will be provided with everything you need to know. In addition, there will be on-site training to prepare you for everything you should expect during your meetings on the Hill.
Who Can Participate
Foundations on the Hill is for members of United Philanthropy Forum and their foundation members. Foundations who are not members of a national or regional philanthropy-serving organization within the Forum are also welcome to participate and will be assigned to a delegation from their region by the Forum.
Foundations on the Hill is sponsored by Bank of America. We are thankful for their support of this event to bring philanthropy's key policy issues front and center on Capitol Hill.
FOTH Registration is $175 per person
PolicyWorks Institute 2020
March 8-9, 2020
JW Marriott Washington DC
United Philanthropy Forum’s PolicyWorks Institute is the primary opportunity for regional and national philanthropy-serving organizations (PSOs) to take a “deep dive” together over several days to strengthen their policy and advocacy work.
Join the policy staff from regional and national PSOs and their foundation members to enhance your organization's capacity to engage more effectively in advocacy, public policy and government relations work. You’ll experience plenary sessions to inspire and inform your policy work, concurrent sessions to help build your skills for engaging in policy, and many opportunities to share and connect with your peers. Be sure to join your PSO policy colleagues in DC this March for #PWI20.
Who Can Participate
PolicyWorks Institute is for members of United Philanthropy Forum who work on advocacy and policy issues for their PSO or are interested in building skills and capacity in this arena. PSO board members, policy committee members and other members who are interested in engaging deeply along with their PSO in policy work are also invited to attend.
Registration is $195 per person until February 7th. Rates will increase on February 8 to $215.
