The Early Childhood Funders CollaborativeGrantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees and Philanthropy Advocates invite funders to a cutting-edge discussion on how to make strategic investments and restructure biased policies that affect a third of the nation’s children from birth to eight years old who are Dual Language Learners. Join us to learn about how the funding community in Texas is partnering with policymakers and community members to increase equity in the early learning systems through the new Texas Early Childhood English Learner Initiative.

Be among the first to hear research findings from lead policy researchers involved in this initiative including results from focus groups and extensive community surveys. During the webinar a policy researcher from Texans Care for Children and a bilingual educator from the impacted community will share lessons learned from the process of partnering. Two additional experts, Jennifer Esterline who leads Philanthropy Advocates and Chloe Sikes, one of the principle policy researchers for this initiative, will facilitate small group discussions and engage participants in a question and answer session.

Speakers & Facilitators:

  • David Feigen, Early Childhood Policy Associate, Texans for Children
  • Brittnay Connor, Bilingual Educator, Dallas Independent School District
  • Jennifer Esterline, Founder and Director, Philanthropy Advocates
