As we continue to grapple with headline-churning developments impacting the state of our democracy, questions abound about what sort of advocacy PSOs and foundations can pursue without running afoul of the law.
Not sure how to make the case for engaging in lobbying? Wondering whether your members can join you in speaking out on a particular issue? Public charities and private foundations can play an important role in preserving democracy by engaging in public policy advocacy themselves and funding others to advocate for systemic changes.
After this workshop, you will have a clear understanding of the kinds of advocacy activities you can safely engage in. You will also learn how your members can lawfully support the advocacy efforts (including advocacy) of your PSO and other grantees.
