Every other year, the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers brings together recognized thought leaders from philanthropy and nonprofits for a conversation exploring topics of critical interest to the future of the social sector. The 2022 Spring Colloquium will tackle how the social sector can advance systems change.

Grantmakers and nonprofits grapple with complex, structural issues every day. In moving forward this vital work, we must take on the difficult conversations: acting on commitments to support grassroots, BIPOC-led organizations; forming real trust with partners forged in transparency and listening to those closest to the problem; and confronting beliefs and structures perpetuating systemic inequities in our communities.

During this catalyzing discussion, panelists will spotlight and lift up concrete solutions to narrow power gaps and strengthen nonprofit-funder relationships. We’ll share ways to leverage cross-sector partnerships for deeper impact, and value lived experience. Together, we’ll explore how the sector can challenge long-standing orthodoxies in philanthropy, and our everyday work, to create transformational change within and across organizations.

A highly regarded convening for foundation and nonprofit leaders, the 2022 Spring Colloquium will delve into the power and cultural shifts needed to advance systems change through philanthropic and nonprofit partnership. Following an inspiring panel presentation and case studies highlighting local examples of systems change, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, share insights and examples, and think collaboratively in small group discussions.

Join your colleagues for a pressing, compelling, and crucial conversation.
