The convening is open to chief executives (CEOs, presidents, executive directors) of Forum members.
We know you are working incredibly hard. We are also hearing from many of you that this is a particularly challenging time: supporting your Board of Directors, members, employees, families, colleagues, responding to the continued inequitable effects of the pandemic and the corresponding economic decline; addressing the uprising for Black and Brown lives. You are spending hours on video calls, feeling a lot of sadness, worry, anger and so much more. While we know you have friends and people you talk to, we also know there is value in being a part of a more formal cohort. It provides a place to share openly and confidentially with peers to get encouragement, receive helpful advice and have a safe place to vent, cry, laugh and get practical help.
We would like to invite you to participate in a cohort of 6-8 other PSO CEOs that will meet virtually for four months from January to April of 2021. During the four 90-minute video calls, facilitators from The Giving Practice will design a space that allows you to share, reflect and learn together about how you are holding up, how you are supporting your staff and communities, where you think you are doing well and where you feel less sure of yourself. Many of you participated in a one-time CEO conversation with TGP during our annual conference, and we heard positive feedback from those groups.
TGP has led several leadership cohorts for CEOs and Trustees, with a focus on advancing racial equity in those roles. They have found that leaders get the most out of the experience when they bring their full, authentic self, including a sense of vulnerability and honest assessment of their challenges. These confidential conversations are meant to be a space where you and your peers can share your individual and collective experiences.
There will not be any homework. TGP will design the time for reflective work, offering you a chance to get peer support for dilemmas and challenges you have, and reacting to leadership frameworks as a way to name and affirm your leadership assets.
When you register, please indicate if you are interested in participating in a cohort for CEOs of color, CEOs of small or large CEOs, new CEOs or no preference. We will do our best to accommodate requests depending on the response we receive and the spaces we have available. In TGP's experience facilitating other CEO cohorts, many CEOs have reported finding value in engaging in a cohort experience with colleagues who come from different types of organizations and/or who have different lived experiences and backgrounds.
