Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA) promotes just and effective philanthropy that supports harmonious relationships between people and planet. Nearly two years ago EGA began the process of resetting its strategic framework to address historic and systemic imbalance of power that limit the effectiveness of our shared work. At EGA, we understand that white supremacy, colonization, and imperialism manifest through the domination of natural resources, land, water, oceans, health and well-being. In our presentation and discussion we want to walk through our plans to address timely issues of lack of access to the outdoors, clean air and water, healthy environments, and the violent targeting of environmental protectors with emphasis on how racialized systems intensify the call to action. Join to learn about vision for this work is rooted in centering and following Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities and resourcing them to enable the conditions of next generation leadership.
