Help us celebrate the third annual Get a BEER* and Undo Nonprofit Power Dynamics Day (GBUNPD for short) on Thursday, June 21, 2018, this year’s Summer Solstice.
In 2016, Vu Le, author of the popular blog Nonprofit AF proposed a now annual day where nonprofits, funders and foundation trustees can see each other as human beings and help decrease the power dynamics so present in our sector. This is a time for nonprofit professionals, foundation staff, and board members and trustees to get together without an agenda, to break down power imbalance and strengthen relationships in our sector.
GEO and Weissberg Foundation are partnering with the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, United Philanthropy Forum and Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers to host a happy hour in DC at Tonic at Quiqley’s.
We’ll provide drinks and appetizers, all you need to bring is one or two staff members from the nonprofit organizations you fund to just hang out.
RSVP by June 14th to join us!
Please reach out to Kyle Rinne if you have any questions, and join us for happy hour on June 21, to continue to making your funding process more effective and equitable.
*BEER stands for “Beverage to Enhance Equity in Relationships,” and does not have to be alcoholic.
